Bing Advertises On NYTimes, Google Powers Search

June 30, 2009, Bing advertises on NYTimes.com. As can be seen in the picture below, anyone visiting NYTimes.com will now see an ad for “Bing”. This seems like a very good decision because NYTimes.com is one of the most visited destination on the web for news, and can definitely attract some users for the search engine.

According to Alexa approximately 67% of NYTimes visitors are from United States. So this ad placement decision was appropriate considering Microsoft is planning to spend over $100 million in marketing for Bing in the United States.

Ironically, the search features on NYTimes were powered by Google.
